The Idylik Group was founded on a commitment to the world’s most distinctive craft beverages and organic agricultural products. Our journey began not just with coffee, but with the painstaking process of cultivating and exporting premium organic and specialty coffee from the volcanic highlands of Guatemala.
The South African Connection: Premium Wine
The Group now completes its trifecta of global flavors by championing the excellence of South African premium wine. We are proud to be actively exporting fine vintages from the Western Cape’s most acclaimed appellations—including Stellenbosch, Franschhoek, and the Swartland—to the emerging markets of Central America. This initiative is supported by our ownership and operation of a number of exclusive wine bars and dedicated tasting centers in Guatemala, a presence we are now expanding to every country in Central America. Our expert Sommeliers are excited to introduce the region to South Africa’s signature varietals, such as the vibrant Chenin Blanc, the complex, indigenous Pinotage, and the critically-acclaimed Cape Blends, establishing a new, sophisticated appreciation for the New World winemaking tradition.
We specialize in sourcing rare, high-altitude Strictly Hard Bean (SHB) Arabica varietals from renowned micro-regions like Antigua and Huehuetenango. These beans, nurtured in mineral-rich volcanic soil, are meticulously hand-picked and often processed using the washed method to achieve exceptional clarity. The result is a cup celebrated globally for its vibrant, crisp acidity, complex notes of dark chocolate, caramel sweetness, and subtle floral or citrus undertones—a true reflection of the Central American terroir. Our dedication to direct trade ensures quality and sustainability at the source.
We're thrilled to share some extraordinary news from one of the wine world's most respected voices. Master of Wine Tim Atkin has just released his 2025 South Africa Special Report, and Benguela Cove has achieved something truly special - five wines scoring 92 points or higher, including our third consecutive 95-point score for Catalina Semillon. Still, promising startups have grabbed investors’ attention this year....
The 2025 New York World Spirits Competition threw the spotlight on mezcal’s boundless expression. In a category where smokiness, terroir, and nuance must coexist in harmony, two finalists stood out: Catedral de mi Padre Ensamble Cuishe and Mi Mama Me Dijo Reposado Mezcal. Yet it was Mi Mama Me Dijo Tobalá that ultimately captured the judges’ hearts, earning the title of Best Mezcal with its layers and depth....
We spoke with Rodrigo, executive director of Bicafé in Guatemala to better understand the current situation and what we can expect in the coming months. Although it may seem like a victory for producers, soaring export costs and limited financial access make it a double-edged sword. The coffee market is going through a historic moment. Prices have risen steadily, surpassing barriers not seen in the last 50 years....

Organic coffee is farmed on pesticide free land, washed and sun dried for roasting.
Tequila is a form of mezcal, it has to be produced in tequila from blue weber agave in ovens above ground, and mezcal is produced from harvested espadin agave, or wild agave from the mountains and is produced in a pit in the ground.
